Haley Bell was raised in Dallas, Texas. She holds a BFA in Painting and Art History from the University of Oklahoma, and spent 13 years living in Los Angeles, London, and Boston. She worked across visual arts, film, and advertising before returning to painting full time.

Her work sits between abstract and actual, and draws from a background in highly detailed, hand-built work where drawing remains present but less resolved.

Each piece is built on a wood panel she constructs by hand, layered and worked over time so the surface holds its own history. It carries both intention and what resists it.

The compositions are built through close, sustained study rather than literal depiction. There is a direct connection to each figure, worked through and left in the surface.
